Whether you are in Dallas or plan to come to visit, bookmark this post so you can refer back when needed! I’ve got everything categorized (even by type of food!) so it should be a breeze finding somewhere to go or something to do. Happy reading!
RESTAURANTS
Pizza
Piet Tap – My favorite pizza place in Dallas. I’m all about the crust and this place does it RIGHT. I highly recommend their Garlic Knots as an app and any of their pizzas! If you are more of a Salad person, their Crispy Chicken Chop Salad is so good! They also have great cocktails and I’ve also heard that their Brunch is awesome!
Louie’s – This is Michael’s favorite pizza place in Dallas. It’s a Dallas staple and definitely “divey”, but they are known for their Caesar Salad, Pizzas and Martinis! This is a great spot for to-go pizza, too, since they have limited seating inside and it can get super busy and crowded!
Sushi
Oishii – Best sushi in Dallas! You can do take out or dine in. Great prices and all their rolls are delicious!
Uchi – A pricier option for sushi, but holy moly their food is amazing. I recommend this for a special occasion or date night. The atmosphere is incredible, too. Be sure to order the Brussel Sprouts as an app!
Alice – We didn’t know how much we loved Asian tapas until eating here! It quickly became one of our favorite spots in Dallas. The food is amazing and the portions are great to share! They also have great cocktails and I believe the back room turns into karaoke at night on the weekends? I mean..what more could you need?
Tex Mex
Mi Cocina – A must for sure. It’s a Dallas staple! I recommend the Mama’s Tacos or Brisket Tacos, and make sure you order a Mambo Taxi. It’s a Margarita experience you won’t forget – but they’re strong, so watch out!
Glorias – Michael and I love Gloria’s for takeout! They have amazing steak and brisket tacos! Super strong Margaritas, too!
Doce Mesas – If you love a good margarita, these are my fave in Dallas. I recommend a skinny spicy jalapeño margarita on the rocks and the steak or brisket tacos!
Javier’s – A Dallas staple if you want authentic Tex Mex. A bit on the pricier side for Mexican, but the experience is worth it! They also have a Cigar Lounge which is super fun!
El Bolero – This is our favorite Mexican in Dallas. Probably one of the most underrated restaurants in the city, IMO. You HAVE to order the Bacon Guac as an app (you’ll thank me later)! All their tacos are great, too!
Te Deseo – Super vibey if you are looking for a bougie Mexican spot for GNO or date night. They opened right before we left so never got to eat there, but the vibes were awesome as well as the drinks. They also have a whole rooftop area that overlooks Downtown Dallas!
Velvet Taco – Not Tex Mex, but such a yum taco place if you need something to-go! I highly recommend getting their loaded tots and red velvet cake, too! It’s also open super late!
Burgers
Maple and Motor – Definitely a hole in the wall, but they make some of the BEST burgers in town. I also recommend getting a homemade milkshake while you are there!
Village Burger Bar – Really easy to-go burger spot that we love!
Shake Shack – If you’ve never been to a shake shack, highly recommend! Perfect for to-go.
Keller’s Drive In – The most “divey” burger you can get, but so so good!!! It’s literally a drive in (like sonic) and they bring your food to you!
Classics
Honor Bar – OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN DALLAS. Sit down, order a margarita and the smoked trout dip. For dinner, share the Dingy’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Emerald Kale Rotisserie Chicken Salad with someone. I’ve ordered this more times than I can count. it’s our favorite meal. It is a smaller restaurant, so make sure you have a party size no larger than 6 (4 is better)!
R+D Kitchen – Sister Restaurant to Honor Bar. Same great atmosphere. If you love sushi, order the Thai Tuna Roll!
Sixty Vines – Love the atmosphere here! Really great for larger groups, too! They have awesome Pizza and Pasta and so many awesome wines on tap! They also have a great brunch, too.
The Henry – Another awesome atmosphere! They also have a rooftop bar where you can just grab a drink! They make a great Aperol Spritz! I heard the location in AZ is better, but still highly recommend!
Beverly’s – Smaller restaurant and gives allll the Cali vibes. I love this place! Food is always good and they also make a great Aperol Spritz, but their dessert is WHERE. IT’S. AT. Don’t leave without ordering the Sticky Toffee Cake AND Nutella Brownie. Seriously.
HG Supply – Definitely another Dallas Staple. HUGE rooftop bar if you are with a group. Also has a lot of healthy options on the menu!
Paradiso – Located in Bishop Arts and is such a vibe! Loved eating here! They also have awesome outdoor seating when weather permits and live music on the weekends! Grab a drink at Botanist next door before or after!
BBQ
Slow Bone BBQ – The real deal when it comes to BBQ. It’s a hole in the wall, but the food is to die for and the staff is always so friendly!
Pecan Lodge – A favorite amongst a lot of Dallasites. Tends to have a line out the door so get there as early as possible!
Dessert
Del Frisco’s Grille Double Eagle – Their Butter Cake is the #1 dessert in Dallas IMO. Order an Espresso Martini while you’re there, too!
Beverly’s – Sticky Toffee Cake and Nutella Brownie. THE BEST.
Creamistry – Great option if you are dairy-free. They make the ice cream from scratch, and you can pick any milk base that you want (like almond milk or coconut milk!)
Val’s Cheesecake – If you love cheesecake, this place is for you!
Hypnotic Donuts – BEST DONUTS IN DALLAS.
Emporium Pies – If pie is your thing, you have to check this place out!
Milk + Cream – They basically make donut ice cream sandwiches sooo it’s amazing.
Cocktails
The Tipsy Alchemist – great for craft cocktails. Located in Victory Park
Botanist – Located in Bishop arts, but one of my favesss for cocktails.
Bowen House – Great place for craft cocktails in the heart of Uptown.
The Monkey Bar – Attached to the Mi Cocina Location in Highland Park Village. Super fun lounge area where you can grab drinks on the second floor.
Lounge 31 – This place is also such a vibe. Perfect for a GNO or little get together. Awesome drinks and also have a DJ on the weekends for late-night!
Parliament – Awesome craft cocktail bar in Uptown. Rather small inside, but they have so many great options!
Midnight Rambler – located under the Joule hotel. So vibey and great cocktails!
Armoury D.E. – They have a chocolate chip banana bread that is INCREDIBLE.
Coffee
White Rock Coffee – Over by White Rock lake. Great local spot!
La La Land Kind Cafe – The best vibe and best coffee. Probably my favorite in Dallas.
Ascension – Another great spot that also does food and they do wine in the evenings!
Houndstooth Coffee – Great coffee and teas off Henderson.
Royal Blue Grocery – Located in Highland Park Village. You can also get grocery items, food, etc! Love this place!
To-Go
The Juice Bar – My fave juice/smoothie/smoothie bowl place in Dallas
Pressed Juicery – Great for on the go juices!
Pok The Raw Bar – If you love POK, this is my favorite place in Dallas. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Bowl and add chili oranges and edamame. I’ve probably ordered this over 50 times…one of my favorite meals for sure!
Corner Market – We used to live right down the street for this place and is quickly became one of our favorites. Another hole in the wall, but everything is made FRESH daily. All of their breakfast is delicious and then for lunch, be sure to try their salad trio., It’s basically a build your own lunch – you get to pick 3 items to fill your to-go box! You also can’t beat the prices!
Foxtrot – Cute place for easy and quick to-go items. They sell anything from ice cream to bottles of wine to coffee and avocado toast. Great place to work from or meet up with a friend!
Flower Child – Healthy options for a quick and easy meal! Michael and use to go there all the time.
Bird Bakery – Great spot for a coffee and pastry or dessert. They also serve lunch. I highly recommend their Nutella Bread and Monster Cookie.
Entertainment
American Airlines- Our big venue for all concerts and sports. Definitely recommend looking up if anything is scheduled while you are here!
Kylde Warren Park- Outdoor park that frequently holds fun events to include fitness classes and concerts!
The Rustic- They always have live music and is a super fun hang out to get drinks with a big group!
Nails/Waxing
Hillcrest Nail Spa – I have been going here for years. The entire staff is amazing at what they do!
Miniluxe – They do awesome waxing – I get my eyebrows done here! Also another great option for mani/pedi.
Benefit Brow Bar – If you thread your eyebrows, this is where I would recommend.
Spa
Vivian’s Boutique Spa – This spa is the cutest place! All of the staff is amazing and the owner is the sweetest!
Joule Hotel Spa – A pricier option, but everyone raves about the Spa in the Joule Hotel!
Shopping
North Park Mall – Typical mall with higher and lower end stores
Highland Park Village – Mostly high end stores
West Village – Lots of boutiques and restaurants
Shops at Park Lane – Across from Northpark Mall.
Knox/Henderson – Cute shopping strip that has a mixture of restaurants and boutiques/stores
Lower Greenville – Not as many stores, but an area that a ton of people love to go to eat!
