Saison means season in French. So what if your skin care regimen changed with each one? Have you ever thought of using different cleansers and moisturizers based on the temps outside? What most people don’t know is that our skin changes with every season, just like the environment and all the living organisms it inhabits. Saison organically handcrafts skincare from the nutrients of seasonal ingredients, creating the perfect products for your skin! And just like food, it’s fresh, meaning it’s perishable ingredients should be used within a certain time frame. But thankfully, you can rest easy knowing your putting some of the best ingredients on your skin.
The biggest question I had to ask myself was, why put something on your skin that has been sitting around for months? Especially when your skin absorbs up to 60% of what you put on it. I’ll be the first to say that I have rarely ever thought this heavily into my skincare routine, and am a cleanser and moisturizer from the drugstore kind of girl. While there’s nothing wrong with that, I was curious to see what organic products could do differently for my skin.
I’m happy to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the results. The weirdest thing for me was getting used to the texture. I’m used to soapy suds when washing my face, and using an oil cleanser feels exactly how you would think, oily. After working it into the skin and following the directions, I was surprised to feel the oily texture still left behind. At first, I figured I wouldn’t like it, but realized the oil just continued to work on my skin as the day/night went on. I had no problem putting my makeup on over it or using moisturizer. While my skin wasn’t miraculously perfect overnight, I can definitely tell that its softer and has better tone than before using this product.
Paying the price for these products is certainly a setback, but Saison has definitely created something worth trying. I would love to continue to use their products for different seasons to see how my skin continues to look and feel, as well as use other products they offer. Not to mention, the smell of their cleansing oil is wonderful and spa-like. Not a bad perk if you ask me!
